CRM / Work with CRM

Convert a lead to a deal.

Conversion creates or links the contact and customer, creates the deal, and changes the lead status to Converted.

Where to go

Open Applications → CRM → Leads. Open the lead record and click the record action Convert to deal.

Steps

  1. Review the lead. Confirm the person, company, email, and phone details before starting conversion.
  2. Choose the contact. Select New contact to create one from the lead, or select Existing contact and pick a matching record.
  3. Choose the customer. If there is no linked customer, select New account or Existing account. A new account requires Account code and Account name.
  4. Enter Deal name. The form starts with the lead name; change it if the opportunity needs a more specific name.
  5. Select Pipeline. Choose an active CRM pipeline. The Stage field becomes available after a pipeline is selected.
  6. Select Stage. Choose a stage from the selected pipeline. Both Pipeline and Stage are required.
  7. Enter Amount. This is optional but recommended when the opportunity has a known value.
  8. Click Convert to deal. Wait for the conversion summary.

Expected result

The page shows Lead converted successfully and displays cards for the Contact, Customer, and Deal. Click a card to open its record form. The lead status becomes Converted.

Common validation errors: select a contact when using Existing contact, select or create a customer when required, and choose both Pipeline and Stage before converting.
