Workspace / Team chats
Work together with context.
Team Chats give people a direct way to communicate inside the business workspace, with conversation history, unread state, pinned chats, and the surrounding application context close at hand.
Direct conversations for the work in front of you.
Team Chats connect members of your organization in one-to-one conversations. Discuss a customer, project, payment, or decision, then move to the relevant workspace capability when the conversation needs action.
What Team Chats are
A direct channel between people on your team.
Find an active teammate, start a conversation, and keep the discussion connected to the work your organization is doing. Team Chats are designed for direct collaboration between organization members.
Team Chats are not chatbot sessions.
Team Chats are person-to-person conversations. Chatbots serve internal, web, social, or phone experiences, while AI assistant conversations help people work with applications, records, tools, and commands.
Start a conversation
Reach the right teammate without leaving the workspace.
Team Chats make it easy to begin with the people you work with most often or find someone new in your organization.
1. Find a teammate
Use recent suggestions or search active organization users by name and email.
2. Start a direct chat
Select a teammate and create a direct conversation when no chat exists yet.
3. Open the chat tab
Keep the conversation available as a workspace tab while you continue working.
4. Continue the thread
Return to the existing conversation and keep the context connected over time.
Conversation experience
The message history stays with the conversation.
Direct conversations preserve the messages and activity needed to continue a discussion without starting over.
Send messages
Share a question, update, decision, or request directly with another member of your organization.
Read the history
Open the conversation and review previous messages before continuing the thread.
Edit your messages
Correct or clarify messages you have sent when the conversation needs an update.
Delete your messages
Remove your own messages when they should no longer remain in the conversation.
Stay organized
Keep attention on the conversations that matter.
Your chat list helps you see what needs attention and keep important conversations easy to return to.
Unread counts
See how many messages need your attention in each direct conversation.
Mark as read
Keep the conversation state accurate after you review the latest messages.
Pin important chats
Keep a conversation near the top of your list when it is part of your current work.
Archive your view
Remove a conversation from your active personal view while preserving the underlying chat state.
Conversation to action
Move from discussion to the work itself.
A Team Chat can be the starting point for a business decision. When the conversation requires more than a reply, move to the relevant application, record, agent, or command and keep working in the same workspace.
Discuss
Ask a teammate for context, approval, clarification, or a decision.
Inspect
Open the application or record connected to the topic of the conversation.
Automate
Use an agent or workflow when the next step should happen repeatedly.
Act
Use commands and application actions to turn the decision into progress.
Example
A customer question becomes a team decision.
“Can we confirm why this customer payment is still pending?”
A sales teammate starts a direct chat with finance, shares the question, reviews the conversation history, and moves to the relevant application when the team is ready to verify the record.
Find
Search for the finance teammate and open the direct conversation.
Clarify
Keep the question and replies together in the message history.
Verify
Move to the relevant application or record when more context is required.
Follow through
Pin the chat if the issue remains active and continue from the latest context.
